In the beginning of 2020, actually 1/07/20 our mom passed of what we were told was – Hepatitis C and Sorosis of the liver. That is not what she passed on to heaven with; at the age of 69, but more on that later.
I had just come back home to Florida after staying with mom about 9 days to help her. I was going to go back, a few weeks into January.
Well, needless to say… that didn’t happen. After speaking to Mom in the hospital, on the 5th and 6th, she was ready to leave California. I surely didn’t think the phone call I received next, was going to be a goodbye call on the 7th. I watched this via FaceTime as did my older sister. My two younger sisters lived in California therefore, they got to be there in person.
This is when (while working for the public school district) I became very ill. Yes, it was 2020 but, it was not my issue. I began having horrible pains at the top of my stomach that shot straight through to my back. I actually thought I was having a stroke at work one day.
There are reasons we get sick out of nowhere. I truly do believe this. I believe this to be spiritually sick, physically sick, from a broken heart, lack of taking care of oneself, and heredity.
We returned back to school on the 28th of August 2020, and, that weekend I was slammed with whatever was happening to my body, I could not lift my head from the pillow.
I began seeing the nurse practitioner that takes care of only the staff who sign up for the clinic. They were kind, and I loved my nurses there.
She began testing me for everything under the Sun. She also put me on an antidepressant because I couldn’t snap out of this! The day she found white blood cells in my urine… She ordered a CT scan, bloodwork and, just a few days later she called at 530 A.M., to inform me not to eat food at all. To only drink nutritional shakes until she got me into the Gastro Doctor. She stated I was critically low in vitamin D, an immune disorder fighting my liver, but they weren’t sure which one… Basically, no potassium, and a few other things, my heart rate was 145bmp – 115bpm at a resting rate.
“The CT scan showed possible SMA” she said. I said back, “what In the Sam Hill is that?” She said, “That is your Superior Mesenteric Artery that flows down and throughout your intestines. It appears to be severely blocked, and your liver is very fatty.
Okay, this was now October – I was to see this new doctor in November and when I did, I was taken into the surgery center.
I was sick-sick at this point. On 11/23/20 they took me in, to have an endoscopy and colonoscopy.
Which I was then told, “you have NASH with possible stage 3 Fibrosis.” I was devastated to say the least!
The rest of the story comes next.
